Hello fine readers (if you exist :)
Dell has released a new XPS machine built in the style of my gaming machine itself (the M90 from Dell). It is a brute of a laptop (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/xpsnb_m1730wow?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~tab=bundlestab) with high powered video, 4gb of memory, a 160gb hard drive and more I can tell you it kicks ass in Warcraft to have a machine that can play all the graphics and not bog down like the toys other people are using!
This machine even beats out my M90 which has basically the same equipment in it (although no "PHYSICS" card and no dual video) but the M90 still rocks the game and this machine will be even better.
If your looking for a laptop for Warcraft this might be your machine, but be prepared because the price tag is $4500! At that price you will be working more and playing less... which might be counter productive to spending five grand.
Oh, and one last thing, the machine runs Windows Vista and comes with 4gb of memory standard. Why is this a bad thing? Because Vista, like all the desktop operating systems from Microsoft, cannot directly access 4gb of data and the system will tell you so. Of course having that extra space isn't all bad, people still get excited when you tell them you have 4gb!

Pets to Gets
Well, I think I am going to spend a little time working on my cooking and fishing. The cooking so I can make some of the tasty treats out there and the fishing so I can catch "Mr. Pinchy."
I'm also going on the hunt for a firefly.
The quests for non-combat pets... a neverending amusement.
Check out http://www.wowinsider.com/ for lots of cool little tips.

Going Priest
My little druid has been sitting around unused for quite some time now as I work on getting my priest leveled up and equipped. Eventualy I hope to have them both ready to go to Kara although at this rate my priest will probably be ready first.
Playing the priest is an intresting change from playing my druid. While I was mostly about damage with Bad I now have to focus my attention on getting my healing skills up. It looks like I am in for a lot of instances, since that is where all the good gear is (not that it wasn't for Bad but I was lazy and could solo more things as him so I didn't do a lot of instances).
At least having a few (dozen) toons gives me something to do...

Druid "Epic Flight Form" coming soon!
Druids are gaining a new epic flight form that will allow us to... well, fly faster... Although you will have to do a quest line for it and the the first part is to pay for the epic flight training (which costs a shibby load) at least druids still do not need to buy an actual mount ;)

Bring on the dancing girls!
Well, the day has finaly come, I can once again gain experience from killing things and outland has plenty of experience to be earned.
Many of the things out there are worth 1000+ exp for level 60s and is a quick way to get to 61.
I haven't been able to play long enough to get myself to 61 but I am looking forward to getting my omen of clarity back.
Hopefully I can get to 61 by Saturday night before we go on vacation!
Outland has a lot of new quests and the items are great so keep hacking and slashing your way through for some good stuff!

Expansion
The World of Warcraft expansion is sweet but I do have one downside that I found. Everyone was logged in last night trying to kill the same things. It was freaking insanity, and with everyone trying to kill everything it lead to people yelling and screaming and complaining and pushing and shoving and mass chaos.
Some of my favorite comments were:
"Anyone who is level 63 is a nerd." - Said in chat within the MMORPG. My response was "Can a nerd really call someone else a nerd because playing Warcraft really is a defining boundary for 'nerd.'"
"There are too many people here!" - Said by someone who had been logged in and had not moved from the same area in three hours.
"Why would Blizzard do this?" - The answer... eh, because they can.
"I cannot wait to see VC get hit by a totem!" - If this is your idea of something to look forward to... well, I think it says it all.
I spent a little time exploring outland but mostly I leveled my new shammy as fast as I could so I could get away from the starting area which really is a bit over populated.
At this time I must again point out my advice to people:
If you don't like a race or class, don't play it. If you don't like what Blizzard has done to the game, don't play it. If you don't like your computer, get a new one, if you don't like pants don't wear them!

The Burning (Crusade)
Ok, I admit it, I was... no I am excited about the expansion for the World of Warcraft but as I headed to Best Buy this morning to pick up my copy I was wondering how long the line would be at the store and telling myself, there would not be a line, a line would be crazy talk.
So, I drove up to Best Buy about 5 minutes before they opened and there were probably 35 people standing there and I just drove on by and did my shoping at Toys 'R' Us.
Then I went back to Best Buy and got my CDs and a copy of the Burning Crusades and quickly checked out and ran off to install my new shiny (non-collectors edition) copy of the game.
After installing and accepting the agreements and installing the patchs that I had already installed again and accepting the agreements and sending in a blood sample and coloring my hair orange and purple and dancing naked around my computer doing the Nutron dance the game finaly allowed me to connect up and create my new Alliance shammy (Figpucker) and Horde pally (Chestylaroo - ala Homer Simpson).
Whats new in the game? A lot of the things that you had to find as drops before are now purchasable from vendors and there will be a ton of new material. By the time I logged in around noon central time there were people that had leveled to 62 (They will probably be 65 by the end of the day).
I did not even login to my druid but just enjoyed the new characters (and leveling them much faster than my level 60 will ;)
The new stuff looks like a lot of fun and I am sure Blizzard will bring us many new and exciting things.
Blizzard has also announced that the future expansion packs will be called:
"Cha-ching!"
"This is the CEO's new vacation house"
"Cash Cow"

Guilds
It has come to my attention that I am a guild leader, to everyone out there I recommend the following:
DON'T EVER BECOME THE LEADER OF A GUILD!!!!
For those of you who ignore the above advice, I cannot offer any further advice without proving my own ignorance...
For those of you who have ignored the above advice and the warning here goes...
Guilds should have:
A goal: The goal of any guild should be what defines the actions of the guild. Maybe you want to be a social guild. Then your guild should be actively helping each other and having fun.
Good members: The true success of any group is defined by its members!
Good leaders: No group is successful without a strong group of leaders. While the group itself determines the success the leadership sets the goals and defines the path to get there. Leadership is not management. Managers tell you want to do. Leaders show you where to go. (Trust me, there are a lot of people in this world I'd like to show exactly where to go!)
Trust: Trust is important in everything you do. You have to trust your spouse and your friends. You also have to trust your officers and guild members. A strong team is founded on trust.
Have Fun: The most important part of any GAME (and yes this is a game) is to have fun. If you have fun and help others to do so then your guild will be successful.

What every Druid should know...
I am the very model of a modern Major-General
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotepotenuse
I'm very good at integral and differential calculus
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
I am the very model of a modern Major-General
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral
He is the very model of a modern Major-General
I know our mythic history, King Arthur's and Sir Caradoc's
I answer hard acrostics, I've a pretty taste for paradox
I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabalus
In conics I can floor peculiarities parabolous
I can tell undoubted Raphaels from Gerard Dows and Zoffanies
I know the croaking chorus from the Frogs of Aristophanes
Then I can hum a fugue of which I've heard the music's din afore
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinapinafore
Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform
And tell you ev'ry detail of Caractacus's uniform
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral

In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral

In fact, when I know what is meant by "mamelon" and "ravelin"
When I can tell at sight a Mauser rifle from a javelin
When such affairs as sorties and surprises I'm more wary at
And when I know precisely what is meant by "commissariat"
When I have learnt what progress has been made in modern gunnery
When I know more of tactics than a novice in a nunnery
In short, when I've a smattering of elemental strategy

Upper Blackrock Spire Key
From: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?wquest=4742
Get Quest or Hand in.
Enter Foyer.
Right hand side up ramp and turn right.
Stop at ledge and watch for Pat.
Jump down left side of ledge.
Down ramp and turn left and follow corridor.
Come into large room hard left to wall.
(note if you want to see where you have to then hard right. Look up and diagonally across room to about halfway point. You will see the quest giver/returner x2 up on a ledge. Look to the right and on same level as you are. There is a stone face slope you can make out beyond the flat wall. You need to go up that to it's far corner where you can jump up to same level as Valean.)
If you are 60 hug the left wall all the way around you will not aggro, the 55 that came with me did aggro the mob.
(So enter room hard left you will be safe either right or left no mobs there. Hug left wall turn left hug, turn right, hug, turn left to slope, go around stone slab/obstruction left and up to top corner. From there obvious.)
Approach Valean he looks like a bad guy but transforms and speaks to you.
He will give you the quest, a 55 came with me and could not get it so I'm guessing you need to be up near 60.
You get the quest (I had gems and seal). Hand in quest. He gives you a box with two items. Open the box put items in your bag. Now you have to go to Dustwallow Marsh to a cave where there is a Dragon. Take a group of 5 people have a healer.
You fight the dragon till about 5% of health remains. Tell your group not to be idiots and use DOT's. The round item from the box will take over the dragon. If you have a pet Dismiss before starting you cannot be in control of the Dragon and another pet.
Once you have the Dragon to about 10% place the Seal on the ground by right clicking on it.
Then at about 5% of Dragon health stand near or under Dragon (healer handy now) and use the orb looking item by right clicking. This is how you take over the Dragon. Once in control you will get an extra bar (like pet bar) use the Flame option. You will be in control of the Dragon it's like Eyes of the Beast if you are a Hunter. Take the dragon to where you have placed the second item (It can be placed more than once near each other 5 Max). It does not seem to target the Seal to be fordged so try clicking on the seal and zoom the dragon eyes onto the seal, remember time is limited. Activate the Flame action on the Dragon Bar. Have one of your members nearby so tey can see if the seal becomes "Right clickable for looting". If so your done kill the dragon loot the seal (not from the dragon) and return to Valean.
Now remember it becomes a Loot item so anyone can take it!!
The Key to UBRS is not a key it's a Ring. Approach UBRS door and it will just open for you.
Seal drops from about any mob easy to get, you can only carry one.
Gems are from Bosses -
Quest can be done in a raid. Here is a summary of who drops what (in order of appearance):
Gemstone of Spirestone = Highlord Omokk
Gemstone of Smolderthorn = War Master Voone
Gemstone of Bloodaxe = Overlord Wyrmthalak
Unadorned Seal of Ascension = random drop from any mob in instance (or buy it off AH)

Communication.
One of the most important things a druid (or any character) can do in a group setting is communicate. This is really important when you are in a large group and you are sharing the healing load. Discussing the role you will play and what you should be doing with your fellow classmates and the other healers can be the difference between success and failure.
This is even more important if your not using a voice system or you just do not talk very often when playing. For me I like to avoid the voice chat tools because my wife laughs at me when I do… She already has enough things to laugh at me about so I hope to maintain a bit of my vanity by staying away from the headsets and chatting.
When a group gets going I like to make sure everyone is aware of the looting rules (the same goes for when new people come in during a run). It is better to never have an argument then to have to settle one.
In raids I like to chat with the other druids and make sure we are on the same page and people understand their rolls (including myself). My first trip to AQ20 included a 10 minute conversation with a druid who had been there before and we laid out our strategy for helping the priests and doing damage. It was quite beneficial to the entire group.
Druids also have something every priest loves, innervate. Be sure to discuss with the priest in your group when you are going to use it. If you use it too soon it is wasted. If you use it too late people will die. I usually aim for when a priest gets down to 20% of their mana or so and then only if we are in a fight that is going to require them to continue healing.
I also like to talk to the priests about how the healing process will go. If I am helping heal a group I will usually toss out heal over time spells early on the tanks or anyone getting hit. It helps to keep them topped off and reduces the mana the priests have to use (not to mention it frees them up for later in the fight). You can even use bandages to do some good spot healing. If I am the main healer I usually use the heal over times to reduce my own mana usage and to give me that extra time to get off that three second heal spell (since I am not a restoration druid I do not have an instant heal).
Watching people’s health bars early and often helps you to track how much they get hit and how fast their HPs go down. Being ready early with your spells can save a player or the party.
Mods.
UI Mods can help you communicate with your party. At the least you should be using the CT raid tool as it allows you to better manage raid parties. There are several other modifications that help you track health, curses, etc. and even alert you when someone is running low right on the screen. Curse Gaming (http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files/addons/) has a great number of mods out there to improve your game experience.
As with any game, communicating with the people you are playing with will often mean the difference between having fun and getting yelled at. If you communicate early, ask questions, and formulate a plan people will be less likely to attack you then if you wait until everyone is dead then say “Sorry… I wasn’t sure what to do there.”
